A gorget originally was a steel collar designed to protect the throat. It was a feature of older types of plate armor and intended to protect against swords and other non-projectile weapons. Later, particularly from the 18th century onwards, the gorget became primarily ornamental, serving only as a symbolic accessory on military uniforms. The Renaissance Gorget Neck Plate is made with 15 gauge steel. The thick steel is almost impenetrable by the most common steel blades. studs surround the outer edge of the folded steel plating. Adjustable leather straps support the armor front and back. The curved shape fits snugly around the upper chest and neck region securely. It's curved design allows the armor to flex and absorb impact from a strike.

This Collar Neck Gorget gives excellent defense to the neck and collar and is crafted from Mild steel. The plates which encompass the neck are articulated and will compress when pressed upon to ensure head movement is not hindered - these plates are thinner.
